MG3 History:
MG3 is a small car produced by China SAIC Motor Corporation. The first generation, sold as the MG3 SW, was based on British manufacturer Rover Streetwise, which based the Rover 25, while the second generation, launched in 2011, is simply called the MG3. It is currently the most popular Chinese car on sale in the UK.
First generation MG3 (2008):
The first generation MG3 SW is essentially a refresh of the Rover Streetwise, which was discontinued in April 2005. The old MG Rover organization went bankrupt. Production of the car began in 2008 at SAIC's Nanjing Pukou factory. The MG3 SW is sold only in China and cannot be exported by SAIC.
Second Generation (2011):

Chinese automobile manufacturer Morris Garages (MG) Motors is planning to launch its first MG hatchback MG 3 in Pakistan. The second model of the car was introduced to the international market. MG Pakistan CEO Javed Afridi said that MG 3 will be produced in Pakistan and its cost will be under 2 million rupees. In this case, the MG 3 will be one of the most affordable hatchbacks in the country.
MG Auto Pakistan was recently granted a Greenfield license under the Automobile Development Act 2016-20. The automaker currently sells the CBU kit on two SUVs (MG HS and MG ZS). Soon MG Pakistan will start assembling cars locally. However, if the MG 3 joins the MG series, it will have a CBU unit like its siblings.
